President & Founder

Stephanie Sayre is the President and Founder of Wings of Discovery, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to the conservation and public education of birds. Wings of Discovery offers school and public education programs as well as bird care.

Ms. Sayre graduated Magna Cum Laude from American Intercontinental University and also has a degree in zoo keeping, wildlife education, and exotic animal training & management from Moorpark College. In addition to birds of prey, Ms. Sayre has worked with a wide variety of animals including a Bengal tiger, mule deer, raccoons, tamarins, and macaws.

While at Moorpark Ms. Sayre had the opportunity to work a variety of externships including Apenheul, a primate preserve in Holland as well as Natural Encounters in Florida and Marine World in Vallejo, California. After graduating she worked with the sea lion show at Marine World and ran the America's Teaching Zoo children's program.

After working for master falconer, Tony Suffredini's pest abatement business in 2006, Ms. Sayre began apprenticing under him for her own falconry license in 2007 and acheived master status through the U.S. Dept. of Fish & Wildlife in 2014. She went on to get her certificate in basic wildlife rehabilitation to provide better life-long care to the non-releasable raptors that come to Wings of Discovery from other rehab facilities.

Ms. Sayre's organization, Wings of Discovery, is a licensed facility to care for injured/non-releasable raptors while providing educational programs. The facility presently serves as the home to several owls and falcons.
